GENERAL INFORMATION

Chaiyaphum is a town in Isaan region, the northeast of Thailand. Many archaeological remains and objects were found in many areas in the province such as Dvaravati and Khmer periods and Lan Chang.

There is no flight service nor train service to Chaiyaphum, hence bus remains the most direct mode of transport.

Alternatively, travellers may take train to Chaiyaphum Town’s nearest railway station at Chatturat in Chaiyaphum province. At Chatturat railway station, travellers change to take bus to Chaiyaphum Town for the remaining 50 km to 60 km journey. Hence this option is not recommended.

Public buses are the cheapest ones, except some short distance local buses, which is Air Chaiyaphum, Air Muang Loei, Phu Kradueng Tour, Sun Bus and Thian Chai Air are reputable bus operators serving bus from Bangkok to Chaiyaphum.From 6:00 am to 11:05 pm, almost every 30 minutes to 1 hour, there is bus leaving from Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2).

There are two bus stations in Chaiyaphum. Chaiyaphum Bus Terminal 1 (Bor Kor Sor 1) which is located in the town and Chaiyaphum Bus Terminal 2 (Bor Kor Sor 2) are about 7 kilometers apart.

There are several options for arrival points. The bus will terminate at Ban Pao, Chai Ya Phoom-Bus Terminal, KIaeng Khro, Kaset Sombun, and Tianchai Air Co,.Ltd. Before terminating at Chaiyaphum Bus Terminal, the coach will drop off some passengers at Chatturat District and Ban Khai District within Chaiyaphum province, depending on the bus company.
